We are finally BURP!ing

Posted by eresourceslibrarian on March 10, 2008

At the University of Bradford we have finally got going with the Bradford University Repository Project – BURP! for short.

The first big task was to install our choice of software for the Bradford repository. DSpace freeware was chosen as the platform for our repository. The choice was based on the experiences gathered during our lengthy pilot with DSpace and undergraduate dissertation materials.

In March the Project Team collaborated with a very knowledgeable member from the Repositories Support Project to install DSpace and start the configuration process for the repository. We’ve started with DSpace 1.4 and will eagerly wait to move on to version 1.5 later in the year.

More blogging later.
